Vincent I. Polley is President of KnowConnect PLLC. He focuses on developing electronic security and privacy policies (together with implementing training programs), and in conducting internal investigations involving security and privacy incidents. He is a pioneer and leading authority on legal knowledge management systems for multinational companies.

Mr. Polley has more than 30 years of legal and information-technology experience, both in-house (as deputy general counsel of Schlumberger Limited) and then as co-chair of the Information Technology and Security Law practice group at Dickinson Wright PLLC.

Polley chairs the American Bar Association's Standing Committee on Technology & Information Systems, and had leadership roles with the ABA's World Justice Project, and the Standing Committee on Law & National Security. He is the past chair of the ABA's Cyberspace Law Committee, and the co-author of the book “Employee Use of the Internet and E-Mail”.

Since 1997 Polley has published MIRLN, a monthly e-newsletter on IT related legal news; his Twitter handle is "vpolley".

Mr. Polley was a founding member of the Internet Law & Policy Forum, and is a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, an arbitrator on the AAA's Commercial Panel, and a member of the American Law Institute. A graduate of Harvard College (mathematics), Mr. Polley received his law degree from the University of Michigan.
